Repairs policy explained - new video
Repairs are one of the most important services we provide. But whose responsibility is it when your door lock needs replacing? Or your electrical wiring needs repairing? Or the living room needs redecorating? How about when a smoke alarm battery needs replacing? Or some minor plaster cracks need filling?
The answer to these and other key questions can be found on our new Riverside and One Housing Repair Policy video, now available on our website.
In simple terms, this short video explains our responsibilities, your responsibilities, and our service standards. It shows you how to report repairs via the MyOneHousing app, and how quickly you can expect them to be dealt with . Take a look for yourself ➡️ Repair Policy video

Tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB)
Last week, One Housing joined a national campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and keep people in London safe.
Running from July 3 to 9, ASB Awareness Week 2023 aimed to encourage communities to take a stand against ASB and highlight the actions that can be taken by those experiencing it.
Organised by Resolve, the UK’s leading ASB and community safety organisation, the week features a series of events all across the UK involving Councils, Police Forces, Housing Associations, charities, community groups and sports clubs.
Recent YouGov research commissioned by Resolve found that almost 1 in 5 people have had to consider moving home because of the impact ASB was having on them; 1 in 10 have actually moved. Despite this, over half of those surveyed who were either a victim or witness of ASB did not report the ASB.
One Housing is urging members of the public not to suffer in silence if they experience ASB. Incidents can be reported to One Housing, the anti-social behaviour team at the local Council, or to the Police if people feel that they are at immediate risk or in danger.
For more ASB, look at our website:
ASB is not low-level. It can have a devastating and long-lasting impact on the lives of victims and communities and can be a precursor to more serious crime.

Be a part of the change you want to see in the world!
Tower Hamlets Council is asking residents to take part in an exciting project to encourage more people from the Black, Asian and Multi-Ethnic community to become leaders.
The Council is launching the I Can Be… campaign later this year, which is a powerful message and inspirational call to action, asking residents from BAME backgrounds to step into community leadership roles. In the run up to the launch of the campaign, the council wants to find out how residents would like to be communicated with (is it through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or setting up a dedicated WhatsApp group or face to face engagement) and to find out what works best for the different groups that we are trying to target and help us shape the campaign messaging and artwork.
The Council is holding four workshops before the campaign launch with the first one taking place on Monday 3 July at 11am. This workshop will be held online.
Got to https://tinyurl.com/I-Can-Be-Campaign to join the meeting.

Rent in Islington? You could be eligible for a £250 grant from the council
Islington Council is looking to help its residents cope with the cost-of-living crisis by giving one-off grants of £250 to those who are in work and rent their home.
It doesn’t matter who you rent your home from – a private landlord, a housing association, or the council – you could be eligible to claim for this one-off payment.
Learn more and apply
The grants are designed to help people who are struggling to cover all their bills, so conditions apply. For example, you must be renting your home, and there are limits on total household income and savings.
You can find all the information and instructions on how to apply on Islington Council’s website.
Please note that the Islington Council is giving the money away on a first-come, first-served basis, with applications closing on 30 June.
Need more support?
We know things are tough for a lot of residents at the moment so we are here for you. Learn more about how we can support you.
