    What the Workshop offers: The Bid Writing Workshop aims to benefit fundraisers with all levels of experience looking to hone their grant fundraising skills, as well as those who are looking to write their first application and don't know where to begin.

    Heritage Roadshow invites you to come and join in the fun in designing and learning how to make costumes for this year’s Notting Hill celebrations with professional costume makers.

    Heritage Roadshow is an award-winning carnival organisation (Notting Hill Carnival) with the aim of breaking down barriers and sparking conversations through their striking costumes. Their work has been produced for local, national and international events. They combine highly skilled art forms across street art, music, dance and costume design and production.

    Heritage Roadshow strive to:

    • Introduce carnival arts to a new audience: opening our community doors to the public to learn and get involved in carnival arts.
    • Sharing knowledge of carnival arts and its history to new communities and people.
    • Provide a resource centre for people interested in gaining Information, training and production know-how in carnival arts.
    • Offer assistance to emerging artists and smaller carnival organisations to learn about new materials, methods and the opportunity to create work with us.
    • Keep the spirit of Carnival alive within the community!

    This year’s theme will be Queen Nandi and Shaka Zulu. No experienced needed! To book or for more information contact: residentengagements@onehousing.co.uk

    One Housing's 'One Academy' has been actively fostering relationships with employers, organisations, and agencies across London to provide opportunities for our residents. We collaborate with a variety of partners, including:

    • The Breakfast Club: Operating modern cafés throughout London, offering roles for front-of-house and kitchen staff.
    • NGage: Providing opportunities in the construction industry. For those interested in construction careers, we offer CSCS training, and for those already qualified, we can expedite their employment journey.
    • RHG roles: We plan to work closely with hiring managers in-house for candidates that match our own vacancies.
    • KX Recruitment: Along with many other agencies with whom we have established strong relationships.

     

    We provide a bespoke service for each individual candidate based on their skills and experience.

  • Free after-school tuition

    This is just a reminder of our partnership with the brilliant education charity, Tutors United. Did you know we offer FREE tuition for students in years 4, 5, and 6 both online and in person at some of our community centres? If you think your child or family member could benefit, visit the Tutors United website for more information.

    The in-person hubs are located at the following community centres:

    • Flower & Dean Community Centre, E1 6QT - Fridays, 4pm and 5pm
    • Phoenix Heights Community Centre, E14 9AR - Thursdays, 4pm and 5pm
    • Hillview Community Centre, WC1H 8HJ - Wednesdays, 4pm and 5pm
    • St John's Community Centre, E14 3NE - Mondays, 4pm and 5pm.

     There are currently vacancies at St John’s and Phoenix Heights. Elsewhere sessions may be running at full capacity, in which case your name will be added to the waiting list.

     Meanwhile, there are also places available at the online hubs, which run throughout the week.

     Parents, please consider taking advantage of this great opportunity. The life-long benefits for your child of a little extra tuition could be great.
